What is identity in a post colonial nation? In this fi lm, Asmarinos from different walks of life guide us through their city. Through their narrations ? tracing from colonialism to the present ? the city itself becomes the main character, and the embodiment of Eritrea’s history. As the fi lm progresses, it is the chorus of all the different experiences, rather than false notions of race and religion, that emerges as the collective place of identity, in which lies the concept of ‘nation’.
