What happens at the AAFF?

1 Launch Events
A preview evening held exclusively for VIP guests with the best films shown and refreshments served. Held the evening before each festival commences in all five cities.

2 Film Screenings
Professionals, students and the interested public can attend up to three screenings a day, for three weeks and in the five cities.

3 Exhibitions
Exhibitions including student and professional work, photography and architectural subject matters are exhibited in the public foyers of the cinemas for the duration of the Festival in each city.

4 Education Initiatives
Events related to the educational initiatives will be held in the build up and during the festival which will include the promotion of competitions; specific gala evenings; educational screenings and vocational guidance.

2000 (50% South African) visitors daily to the Festival and Architect Africa websites

No other specialised event has this level of exposure, nationwide, and in a relaxed environment. This enables us to provide bespoke branding opportunities.

How do I submit a film for consideration?

Please email us through our contact page with details about your film including the title, director, length and a brief synopsis. You may also send us links to a trailer online or the film's website if it has one.

The AAFF considers films throughout the year - there is no closing date - as we are always looking to host other events. At this stage submitting a film is completely free!

How can I/we get involved?

We are all about collaborating, connecting and interacting. If you have a good idea you would like to share with us please drop us a line. If you would like to come on board as a sponsor please do get in touch via our contact page. We love any sort of donation - big or small - and inkind sponsorships are always welcome, be they advertising or venue facilities or catering. We need your help!
