REPURPOSE | ARCHITECT AFRICA FILM SCREENINGS at COP17

eThekwini Municipality and the Architects’ Collective are hosting a series of film screenings from 1-9 December alongside the Repurpose: Architecture in Public Spaces exhibition. The screenings are part of the events surrounding the United Nations seventeenth Conference of Parties, which runs from 28 November to the 9 December 2011 in Durban, South Africa.

The screenings are free of charge and take place at 14:30 and 17:30, from 1-9 December, at the Priority Zone, 77 Monty Naicker Road in Durban.

The South African Informal City


In celebration of World Architecture Day, the Architects’ Collective is proud to announce the South African Informal City Exhibition, to be held from 10 November 2011 at the Bus Factory in Newtown, Johannesburg.

The initiative will be a showcase of South Africa’s most relevant and innovative projects that explore informality in the modern metropolis. The aim is to open up dialogue and discussion around the critical issues of informality and urban development, in order to further cooperation, information sharing and positive action between policy makers, practitionersand academics involved in this environment.
